To celebrate the reopening of this Paris institution and French Monument Historique, the least I can say is that the Plaza Athénée / Relais Plaza team definitely did things big, once again.
Refurbished at
the same time as the adjacent Plaza Athénée under the direction of Bruno
Moinard, familiars of the restaurant Le Relais Plaza will be happy to be back as the place has
changed without losing any of its luster.
Like
for the Plaza Athénée, it is all in the details indeed, between precious
elements such as the lampshade crafted in folds of fibrous plaster, as well as
the furnishings and the newly extended bar area, mahogany walls… What a
location it was for a Great Gatsby themed dinner party, that I was very lucky
to attend last month in this décor replicating the 1930s restaurant of the
steamship Normandie.
Created in 1936, Le Relais Plaza is a chic brasserie that has become one of the capital’s go-to travel destinations over the years. This Parisian venue, with its cosmopolitan and refined atmosphere, evokes the dandyism of former times, which continues to inspire Werner Küchler, the restaurant manager of this iconic establishment, where chef Philippe Marc heads the kitchen.
I
highly recommend Le Relais Plaza for a typically Parisian lunch or dinner,
wheter you live here or are visiting. And if you can make it on the last Wednesday
of the month, you will surely enjoy the Jazz Swinging Relais themed
dinners !
