In 2024, BDK Parfums continues to celebrate its deep-rooted connection to Paris with the opening of its newest boutique at 312 Rue Saint-Honoré, an address that holds sentimental value for founder David Benedek. “Since the launch of BDK Parfums in June 2016, I had the dream of opening a boutique in Paris. A dream that became reality in 2024,” Benedek shares. The boutique’s location, in the heart of Paris, is more than just a new step for the Maison—it’s a personal homage to his family’s history. “My grandparents opened their first perfume store in the 1960s at the corner of Rue Royale and Saint-Honoré. This new chapter is a tribute to that legacy.”
The boutique itself reflects a blend of transparency and strength, symbolized by its glass façade and the combination of concrete and white Burgundy stone. These elements were carefully selected to create a contemporary, mineral spacethat feels both fresh and luminous. Benedek explains, “The glass represents transparency, while the mixture of concrete and stone brings light and a contemporary mineral approach to the space.”
To celebrate this new chapter, Benedek teamed up once again with perfumer Alexandra Carlin, who has previously created BDK Parfums’ iconic Velvet Tonka and Villa Néroli fragrances. Their collaboration for 312 SAINT-HONORÉ continues this creative journey, as Carlin explains: “The boutique is a perfect urban jewel for the creations of the Maison, a refuge from the bustle of Parisian life. I wanted to create a fragrance that mirrors this space—intimate and inviting, but also open and luminous.”
The resulting scent is a sensual and mineral musk, a fragrance designed to embody the spirit of both the boutique and the city itself. The spicy top notes of Pink Peppercorn and Angelica Root nod to the brightness of the boutique’s glass exterior, while the heart of Orange Blossom and Tonkalactone mirrors the light and freshness of the white stone walls. Carlin has masterfully layered the base with a seductive mix of Ambroxan, Ambrostar, and pure Oud, creating an overdose of woody amber notes that blend with sensual white musks.
This fragrance is deeply tied to both the location and the creative partnership between Benedek and Carlin. “For David and me, it was essential that the fragrance subtly express the sensuality and pleasure of Paris, as we both experience it, having been born in this city,” Carlin notes. Their close collaboration, described by Benedek as an almost instinctive connection, has continued to flourish. “From the very first meeting, it was like a crush—we just understood each other,” Benedek adds. “Developing a fragrance with Alexandra means constant exchanges, feedback, and refining. It’s a true partnership.”
312 SAINT-HONORÉ is available in-store at the new boutique, across France in independent perfumery shops, and internationally in over 500 locations.
