Bollinger PN TX20: A Tribute to Pinot Noir and the Art of Reinvention

This summer, Champagne Bollinger adds a bold new chapter to its celebrated PN series with PN TX20—a 100% Pinot Noir cuvée that celebrates terroir, craftsmanship, and a deep-rooted devotion to taste. Elegant, expressive, and resolutely complex, this latest edition draws from the heart of Tauxières and continues Bollinger’s tradition of honoring Pinot Noir in all its nuance.

The Essence of Pinot Noir, Refined

The PN collection was born from a unique idea in 2015: a challenge among Bollinger’s oenologists to create the ultimate non-vintage Pinot Noir blend. PN TX20 is the sixth expression in the series—following PN VZ15, VZ16, TX17, AYC18, and VZ19—and perhaps the most ambitious yet.

Crafted around the 2020 harvest, PN TX20 blends wines from Tauxières with complementary crus such as Aÿ and Avenay, using only Grand and Premier Cru grapes. This edition is notable for including over 25% reserve wines from as far back as 2008 and 2012, contributing depth and maturity to its character.

Tasting Notes: Precision Meets Pleasure

In the glass, PN TX20 presents a luminous golden hue. The nose opens with zesty citrus and fresh lemon, giving way to white-fleshed fruits like peach and quince. On the palate, it’s a journey of textures—redcurrant brightness, a touch of flint, and a beautifully layered richness built on compote fruits and subtle acidity. The finish is impressively long and structured, leaving a lasting impression of refinement.

According to Denis Bunner, Champagne Bollinger’s Wine Director, “PN TX20 is marked by great depth and refined texture. It embodies our continuous pursuit of excellence in showcasing Pinot Noir.”

A Wine for Connoisseurs

Aged for over three years on lees and six months after disgorgement, with a moderate dosage of 8g/L, PN TX20 is a wine that respects time. It is best enjoyed at 8–10°C, either now or after a few years of cellaring.

Whether you’re a seasoned Champagne enthusiast or discovering the world of Pinot Noir-based cuvées, PN TX20 is made to be savoured and shared among those who appreciate craftsmanship and character.

Food Pairings

Bollinger recommends pairing PN TX20 with refined yet expressive dishes:

  • Rosemary roasted guinea fowl with sage jus and confit white carrots
