Create the olfactory impression of a vodka on the rocks: that’s the challenge Kilian Hennessy (founder of By Kilian and heir to the Hennessy cognac empire) asked Sidonie Lancesseur – known for her unique way of creating figurative fragrances with short formulas – for his latest opus: VODKA ON THE ROCKS.
As a result, a crisp fragrance reproducing quite perfectly the ice, “on the rocks” effect , born from the association of cold spices – coriander, cardamom – with aldehyde. The heart mixes the sweet bitterness of rhubarb with clear floral notes of rose and lily of the valley, conveying the feeling of white alcohol. In the dry down, oakmoss, ambroxan and sandalwood bring an iodized effect, yet comfortable and lightly leathery.
Part of the ADDICTIVE STATE OF MIND collection, VODKA ON THE ROCKS will be available to all By Kilian customers from mid-October, 2016, in two forms:
A bottle coming in a gorgeous black and silver case, made of lacquered wood with a lid in white bronze finish, engraved with the brand’s signature “K”. A case that plays with the contrast between the warmth of wood and the coldness of the metal.
VODKA ON THE ROCKS is also available in the shape of a 250ml carafe, inspired by the iconic form of a cognac decanter. A bottle that takes no less than twelve artisans to manufacture, also engraved with the brand’s signature “K”.
