As
the Cannes film festival starts today in
France, all eyes will be on the French Riviera for the next 10 days of the
annual global event. Besides the movie premieres, it will all be about glamorous
parties and luxurious venues for the jet-setters, fashion influencers, and the crème
de la crème of the cinematographic industry in attendance – probably everyone
who’s anyone from Paris Hilton to Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Eva Longoria and
Ryan Gosling…
The Cannes film festival inspired
the very creative team at Stylight to create a great infographic comparing and
contrasting it with the prestigious Oscars ceremony, with an influence by the
book “Paris Vs New York” by Vahram Muratyan. An interesting approach to
highlight some distinct cultural differences: take the red carpet for example, both
Cannes and The Oscars have one as a means to showcase the actresses amazing
gowns but Cannes gives them an additional test: climbing up the monumental
staircase that leads to the Palais des Festivals in those killer heels… When it
comes to fashion Versace is the designer of choice at the Oscars with nine
actresses wearing the brand this year, whilst the big winner at Cannes last
year was Chanel Couture – how French!
