Misia, Les Exclusifs de Chanel
Just like Gabrielle Chanel, eternal and outside trends, Les Exclusifs de Chanel are different from any other perfume: they are timelessness and pure, without compromise. For his first creation at Chanel – and the 15th of Les Exclusifs de Chanel line – Olivier Polge chose the name Misia. A legendary figure, Misia Godebska is the one who introduced Mademoiselle Chanel to the world of arts.
About Misia, Gabrielle Chanel used to say: “There is everything in women, and there are all the women in Misia.” A woman portrayed by Vuillard, Bonnard, Toulouse-Lautrec or Renoir.
The influence of Misia upon Coco Chanel is major, as their encounter was in Chanel’s life. With her, Mademoiselle met all the major artists of the early twentieth century. Igor Stravinsky, Cocteau, Picasso… It is also Misia who made her discover Venise.

In the late 1900s, Misia was the one behind the creation of the Ballets Russes, offering their founder Serge Diaghilev a significant financial support. The artistic revolution took place at Palais Garnier, and it’s on this stage that Olivier Polge drew the outlines of this perfume.
With Misia, we are taken back in time, in the excitement at the Opera Garnier on those evenings: pearl necklaces, musicians tuning their instruments, dancers getting ready behind the red velvet curtain… If there was a scent to concentrate these mythical evenings, probably the violet would be the first quoted, a delicate flower with powdery accents. Olivier Polge mixed it with unique Grasse rose, iris, and other ingredients reminiscent of the velvet and fur everywhere to be found at the Ballets Russes… You could almost feel Misia’s presence !
