Exclusive: inside Moynat’s atelier discovering the Maison’s new “Rivage” creation before its official launch

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege to dive further into Moynat’s DNA while visiting the quintessentially French Maison’s atelier – and discover the brand new printed leather “Rivage” bag before anyone else !!

Officially launched this past Thursday at the Paris flagship store on rue Saint Honoré, “Rivage” marks a new direction for Moynat, with a trendy and up-to-date monogram: a good way to catch the attention of a new, younger client segment for the brand. It’s also just in time with the perfect light and bright colors for the summer season !

Since I first discovered Moynat exactly one year ago, I have been an absolute admirer of their clever and perfect designs, as my many articles dedicated to the Maison show.

Always being recognized as an emblem of discreet and uncompromising
luxury with the ultimate Parisian charm, Moynat now situates its main atelier in the centre of the city, 3 minutes walk from its
flagship store at 348 rue Saint-Honoré – back in May last year, the atelier I visited was on the top floor of the store.

This time, I enjoyed walking around again and see all the arm candies…

In this atelier, 8 artisans are dedicated to the making of special orders, as well as working closely with Moynat’s artistic director Ramesh Nair for the development of prototypes.
It is where Ramesh’s sketches actually come to life and take shape for the first time, in paper versions.

Besides this main Parisian atelier, Moynat
also has one atelier for handbags in Drôme with 8 artisans, and one atelier for
the trunks in Limoges with 2 skilful trunk-makers… Just enough to make sure the Maison keeps producing rare items in small quantities: the ultimate sign of luxury.
