Paris is the star of the current exhibition at the ultimate French department store Le Bon Marché. For the occasion, the major French brands have created special collections and unique items inspired by the city of lights.
Besides “Mambo for Moynat“- which depicts minimalist caricatures and urban visuals by French artist Mambo on different pieces (my favourite definitely being the Quattro tote bag “Sweetness Galaxy), Ramesh Nair has achieved a one of a kind creation with his “Malle d’artist”.
The Artist Trunk is a unique piece, which features the curved bottom of the signature house Limousine trunk, and contains a foldable easel made of a composite aluminum panel. Once unfolded, it allows the artist to exhibit his works on six different frames. A double bottom, below a tray covered in leather, serves as a storage space for painting materials.
The trunk is covered with the canvas placed on the floor of Mambo’ studio in Los Angeles: it becomes a work of art itself !
Moynat’s artist trunk is currently presented at an exclusive exhibition at Bon Marché in Paris, until October 16, 2016.
