Paris must do : the Angelina tearoom

Elegantly sitting under the beautiful arcades facing the Tuileries gardens on rue de Rivoli, the Angelina tearoom has never ceased to be an institution for Parisians and visitors alike since it first opened nearly 113 years ago. Its
elegant salons have seen many famous and regular guests over the decades, among whom Proust and Coco Chanel, who rubbed shoulders with the biggest names in fashion.
Over all those years, two creations have contributed to Angelina’s success :
The African Hot Chocolate – for recently trying it, I can tell it is the best I have ever had… Maybe because of a secret recipe, mixing three carefully selected kinds of African cocoa from Niger, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire
that have been specially put together for Angelina…
Yummy: Angelina’s Saint Honoré, Paris New York and cheese cake
while waiting for the hot chocolate
Of course, there is also Angelina’s Mont-Blanc, the Maison’s trademark pastry since 1903 : it combines meringue, light whipped cream and chestnut paste vermicelli. A real Parisian icon !

Angelina’s interior, designed by the famous Belle Epoque architect Edouard-Jean Niermans, combines elegance, charm and refinement to create a sense of romanticism and poetry. It’s a tranquil, exquisite space, somewhere between serenity and indulgence, that really deserves earned its place as an exclusive Parisian address for indulgent pleasure.
