Aerial view of Conrad Maldives
Ithaa translates as ‘pearl’ in the Maldivian language of Dhivehi. And the name is just perfect to describe the gem that is Ithaa at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, which made the headlines all over the world 10 years ago as the first aquarium-style undersea restaurant.
A decade on, its curved acrylic walls still spectacularly give 180-degree views of the surrounding lagoon, reefs and tropical fish – all while dining. To celebrate this anniversary as it should be in what is one of the world’s most expensive and exclusive places to eat, a Château Margaux sommelier dinner will be held on April 15th.

With more than 1,400+ labels and up to 20,000 bottles on the island, Conrad Maldives has an extensive and exclusive wine programme that Kamal Malik, head sommelier, is surely proud of. And of course, inspirational fine dining is at the heart of the Conrad Maldives experience.
