Yesterday, I had the privilege to attend an exceptional event. Temporarily closed for restoration, the Hotel Plaza Athénée Paris opened its doors to a very happy few for « Krug en Capitale » : a dinner based on a menu arranged by triple Michelin starred chef Alain Ducasse to match Krug champagne’s best cuvées, while admiring Paris’ rooftops and the Eiffel Tower from one of the palace’s revisited 8th floor Eiffel suites…
Between April 9 and 23, the Hotel Plaza Athénée offers a handful of lucky people this once in a lifetime opportunity.
A truly exceptional experience – the Hotel Plaza Athénée is currently closed to complete renovation and expansion plans ; « Krug en Capitale » is an ephemeral and unexpected rendez-vous in one of the most legendary palaces of Paris.

A meeting between gastronomy, design and music, « Krug en Capitale » at the Hotel Plaza Athénée is staged by New York based French artist Sebastien Leon. For the occasion, the designer, musician and performer has designed an unprecedented itinerary from the street to the suite : 150 meters of corridors, a lift, two lounges and two bedrooms have been entirely revisited for this one of a kind experience.
