Anyone who knows London’s Mount Street in Mayfair, the city’s most exclusive area, won’t be surprised by the news: the Ritz Paris’s Bar Hemingway takes up a week-long residency in the area’s ultimate bar, The Connaught, starting today, 7th April until 13th April 2014.
A host for the world’s most coveted French labels – the most recent is Moynat, which opened a boutique a few weeks ago – Mount Street now welcomes the legendary Ritz Paris.

During a week, Top mixologists Colin Field of the Bar Hemingway and Agostino Perrone, director of mixology at the Connaught Bar, will join forces to create cocktail magic.
Alongside their personal creations – such as Field’s Ritz 75 (his take on a French 75 using gin instead of Cognac) and Perrone’s Fleurissimo (bitters, sugar, Cognac and Champagne) – the menu will also feature two new cocktail creations devised by the pair and fusing their talents !
The Connaught Bar |
The intimate 54-seat Connaught Bar, which has its own distinctive entrance on fashionable Mount Street, was created to offer a perfect blend of the finest cocktail bar traditions of the past, coupled with new ideas and innovations for the future. Currently closed for restoration, the Bar Hemingway has been a vibrant heart of the Ritz Paris since the 1920s.

After visiting the exquisite Connaught on my last trip to London, and knowing the Ritz Paris’s Bar Hemingway before it closed for restoration, I can say this is definitely a match made in cocktail heaven !
