Once upon a time (about 10 years ago), there was one place to be in Paris: Le Mathis. From the late 1990s to the end of the 2000s, “the” hippest private bar of Paris saw the international jet set and the Parisian happy few mingle, from Madonna to Yves Saint Laurent.
I was there about every other night. So when I learned that Petrossian was creating a cocktail exclusively for the bar, I was the happiest person ! Think about a cocktail designed in collaboration with the Experimental Cocktail Group (whose concept is already present in Paris, London, NYC and Ibiza), the crème de la crème, and topped with the best caviar around.
There could not have been a better match for a cocktail named “Tsar”, than a bar that has kept its original charm and decor with ferns carpet patterns, red velvet sofas and curtains, and beautiful Art Nouveau chandelier… Find me there !
